Beginners Glass Fusing
Saturday 7th February - 9.30am - 12pm
Join me for a fun and relaxed class designing and making your own fused glass creation.
What is glass fusing?
Glass fusing is a technique that involves joining or melting pieces of compatible glass together. The glass is fired in a specialist kiln to temperatures as high as 920°C depending on the project requirements. The fused glass can then be formed/shaped using a slump or drape mould.
What will you make?
Choose between:
Set of 4 coasters
Set of 4 plant pot/garden stakes
Set of 4 suncatchers
A small decorative plate or bowl
A freestanding glass curve - great for a window sill
A wall hanging
You will learn about the various types of glass available - coloured sheet glass, frit, glass powder and stringers.
There will be step by step guidance in designing and creating your pieces.
After the class, your glass will be fired in the glass kiln. Depending on the techniques used, your glass may require multiple firing with each firing taking up to 24hrs.
You will be contacted once your pieces are finished and ready to collect or delivered.
