Lindsay Watson
I am a Scottish glass artist based outside Glasgow.
My journey with glass began over twenty‑five years ago and has continued to evolve through teaching, studio practice, and a deepening connection to the material.
I began my career as a college lecturer in art glass design, where I developed a strong foundation in traditional and contemporary glass methods and had the privilege of guiding emerging artists as they explored the possibilities of the medium. Teaching strengthened my understanding of technique and design, and it instilled in me a lasting appreciation for the way glass can inspire curiosity and creativity in others.
Today, I work from my garden studio, a space that allows me to balance personal practice with community engagement. I run small group classes in glass fusing and stained glass creating an environment where students can learn at their own pace and experience the satisfaction of working with this unique material.
Although I work in both traditional and contemporary techniques, I am fascinated by the possibilities of kiln formed glass.
Alongside teaching, I work on private commissions creating bespoke glasswork from kiln formed sculptures, wall art/hangings, tableware, garden art, jewellery, leaded glass windows and mirrors.
I have some small pieces that I sell online and in select galleries.
